She continued her education with a Master of Medical Management degree from the University of Southern California which focuses on the business aspect of medicine from a physician’s perspective.
As the immediate-Past Chair of the Emergency Department Practice Medicine Management Association (EDPMA), she is a strong voice for independent practices, advocating for fair physician reimbursement, and is a leader in national policy discussions surrounding the issue of balance billing. She has served as President of California American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), Co-Chair of the Reimbursement Committee, as well a member of the Board of Directors. Andrea currently sits on the Reimbursement Committee of ACEP.
Dr. Brault is an industry thought-leader through her frequent speaking, writing and expert testimony. While her industry knowledge is both broad and deep, she has notable expertise in independent physician groups’ practice management and revenue as well as the prudent layperson standard.
She is also an industry philanthropist as a major financial contributor to the Emergency Medicine Action Fund, an advocacy organization working nationwide to secure and improve the rights and opportunities of the independent practice of emergency medicine.
Andrea lives in LaVerne, California with her husband, John. Her adult daughters, Madison, Megan and Jordan, plan to continue the legacy of Brault.

As a trusted partner for ED’s throughout the country, we often consult independent physician groups on ways for them to partner with their hospital leadership teams. By helping them understand the key data points that impact the hospital’s bottom line, we’re able to develop service lines, processes, and trainings to help bolster the value of their relationship – and help protect their ED contract for years to come.
As we were assisting an emergency physician group to restructure its hospital relationship and move into a separate billing arrangement, hospital administrators expressed significant concerns about potential patient complaints as a result of receiving two bills. The new arrangement seemed practical enough on paper. But patients had never received a second bill for emergency physician services. How would they respond? Would complaints skyrocket? The way things played out may surprise you.
On the heels of the 1982 TEFRA Act, an independent group of emergency physician began a successful partnership that eventually led to our inception. Now, more than 30 years later, Brault continues to deliver industry-leading results in practice management and revenue optimization.
