Dr. Brault completed her emergency medicine residency at the University of California, Irvine in 1993 and continued an active clinical practice for over twenty-years. Andrea joined Brault in 1999 to contribute to the family business and scale the management team. In 2004, she was elected President expanding her role to Chief Executive Officer in 2015. She continued her education with a Master of Medical Management degree from the University of Southern California which focuses on the business aspect of medicine from a physician’s perspective.

As the immediate-Past Chair of the Emergency Department Practice Medicine Management Association (EDPMA), she is a strong voice for independent practices, advocating for fair physician reimbursement, and is a leader in national policy discussions surrounding the issue of balance billing. Andrea currently sits on the Reimbursement Committee of ACEP.

Dr. Brault is an industry thought-leader through her frequent speaking, writing and expert testimony. While her industry knowledge is both broad and deep, she has notable expertise in independent physician groups’ practice management and revenue as well as the prudent layperson standard.

She is also an industry philanthropist as a major financial contributor to the Emergency Medicine Action Fund, an advocacy organization working nationwide to secure and improve the rights and opportunities of the independent practice of emergency medicine.

Andrea lives in LaVerne, California with her husband, John. Her adult daughters, Madison, Megan and Jordan, plan to continue the legacy of Brault.

Adversary to Advocate: How Brault Reframed Patients’ Perspective About ED Billing
